How CON-TAT works

From trusted community observations to regional early warning, CON-TAT helps authorized teams collect, verify, and analyze conflict information.

Authorized community monitors and field reporters submit incident reports and situation updates from their assigned communities and administrative areas using mobile phones or tablets.

Guided digital forms capture consistent quantitative and descriptive information, with required fields to support complete reports. Reporters can attach photos, videos, audio, and documents from field observations, interviews, or trusted media sources.

Authorized National Apex CSOs review and verify incoming reports for their own Member State, identify patterns, and prepare incident and situation reports for the regional centre.

At the SADC Regional Early Warning Centre, focal points review Member State summaries, monitor conflict indicators and trends, and publish information for SADC leadership to support timely prevention and response.
